Fancy Trying a Gran Fondo! 8th May Gran Fondo Michele Bartoli

Gusto Cycling entertained leading cycling weekly journalist Penny Comins to experience one of Tuscany’s most popular Gran Fondo event..the Gran Fondo Michele Bartoli in Montecarlo nr Lucca.

This is a well organised, hard but fun event starting in the wine region of Montecarlo and it’s medieval hill top town where the race starts, it then covers areas around the medieval town of Lucca (see map) and at the finish is a hearty pasta party with local Montecarlo Wine!!…check out the route!

There are 3 courses to choose from on the day 60km, 125km or 167km….you can decide which one to participate on the day depending how you feel..If you are interested in going i have the following package available

Entry to the event

Price: £319 per person based on twin share, a no of restaurants will be booked for the evening once we know the no’s (transport to restauarants will be by taxi which we all contribute) and get some fixed priced menus ‘’sxtra nights are available..Flights available with easyjet from Luton airport with very good middday flight times out and back, bikes can be hired as we did for the event last year priced at 3 day bike hire 120euro’s for Carbon racing bike or 70 euro for alluminium racing bike, the bikes will be delivered to the hotel. dont hesitate if you have any additional questions….
