AUTUMN STRINES CHALLENGE – SUNDAY 14 OCTOBER 2012
14 Sep
It’s the last sportive of the year, and we’ve got an inkling it’s going to be huge…
On Sunday 14 October, we’re teaming up with our pro-riding friends Dean and Russ Downing – the latter fresh back from his successful fourth place finish in the Tour Of Britain – and their cycling club, Out Of The Saddle, to host their Autumn Strines Challenge!
The Downings’ annual group ride will take in some of the region‘s most stunning views as it follows probably the most well-worn twists, turns and climbs around the Strines reservoirs, on a personally guided tour of the brothers’ favourite local training routes.
There will be two, fully signed routes on the day – a 50km and a 100km – and both will start and finish at Baldwins Omega, Sheffield, followed by one of our (now legendary) pasta parties and complimentary bottle of Peroni for all riders.
We’ll have a couple of support vehicles out on the course and there’ll be a mid-way feed station situated in the car park opposite The Ladybower Inn on the A57.
There‘ll also be post-ride massages on offer (free of charge) to ease those aching limbs, concession stalls and nutrition provided by Nourish and Chia, as well as a Wattbike challenge for those who still have enough energy to compete!
Entry is just £30 each and includes pre-ride refreshments + a bowl of post-ride pasta and bottle of Peroni for all riders. And, of course, friends and family are more than welcome to join in the fun at the after-party, which is expected to start at around 1pm. Pasta will be available for non-riders at £5 per head.
Places are limited… and they’re going fast.
Don’t miss out. Book your spot alongside two of cycling’s local heroes in what promises to be a great day in (and out of) the saddle.
- Sign-on from 8:30am
- 100km route ’Latte’ group of riders set off at 9am.
- 100km route ‘Cappuccino’ group of riders set off at 9:15am.
- 100km route ‘Espresso’ group of riders set off at 9:30am.
- All 50km route riders set off at 9:45am.
- Wattbike activities back at Baldwins Omega to commence at approx 2pm.
Please note that on-the-day entries are only payable cash (no credit card option available).
There’s now a Facebook event page set up for this too if interested http://on.fb.me/PB48Pw
Do you have any maps online of the routes?
Nigel, the links to both 50km and 100km routes are now included within this post (see above). Let me know if you get stuck.
I pay a quick visit each day some websites and blogs to read content,
but this webpage gives feature based articles.
Hi Nick,
great route mate, looks excellent. Are you sure about taking it down the A616 (Stocksbridge bypass) though? Really dodgy road in a car and an accident blackspot.
start time?
What are the average speeds to the start times?
Wow, this paragraph is fastidious, my sister is
analyzing these things, so I am going to inform her.
I think everything published made a bunch of sense.
However, what about this? what if you were to write a killer title?
I am not saying your content isn’t solid, but suppose you added a post title that makes people desire more? I mean AUTUMN STRINES CHALLENGE – SUNDAY 14 OCTOBER 2012 | La Squadra is a little plain. You ought to glance at Yahoo’s front page and watch how they create post titles
to grab viewers to open the links. You might add a related
video or a related picture or two to grab people excited about what you’ve got to say. Just my opinion, it could bring your website a little bit more interesting.
Nice weblog heгe! Additionally уour

Can I get yοur associate hyperlіnk

of course like your website but you need to test the spelling on several of your posts.
A number of them are rife with

Hmm is anyone else having problems with the images on this blog loading?
I’m trying
to determine if its a problem on my end or if it’s the blog.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Its like you learn my thoughts! You appear to know a lot about this, such as you wrote the book in it or
something. I think that you just could do with some p.
c. to power the message home a little bit, however instead of that,
that is great blog. A fantastic read. I’ll definitely be back.
It isn’t tough to see why this page was first in the google results, great content with pertinent info. Are you doing something particular to advertise your content or perhaps is it on the 1st page without any extra work?
Where’s the social buttons module? I tried to look for it, but is not anywhere to be found. No big deal, just wanted to give you a like; the content is worth it.
Saved to favorites for later on! Many thanks for the incredible information (the 1st paragraph at any rate).
I’d examine it now, but I got things to do. In fact, I ought to have just read it rather than leaving comments that I wish to read it. Occasionally I’m a bit of
a twit, lol.
I’ll right away grab your rss feed as I can’t find your email subscription
link or e-newsletter service. Do you have any? Please let me know in order that I
could subscribe. Thanks.
