Doing it for the girls! La Squadra Rosa on tour!

The bellow of ‘DON’T STOP’… IT’S NOT THAT BAD – GET ON WITH IT’ (edited language here btw) by a vivacious Polly Baldwin hitting the halfway of Curbar accompanied by cussing and teeth gritting saw the other half of La Squadra Rosa’s assault on the Hot 100 route (me) up to the top. Fabulous moment of pure glee!
Over the last month or so the girls and I have formed La Squadra Rosa. Founding members Sara Rodgers, Vick Cotton, Polly and I have taken to the Peaks for training and escapism – getting out there and hitting the hills – so when the chance to ride the Hot 100 route on the Saturday appeared leaving Polly free to shoot the ‘official’ ride on Sunday and myself to marshal and drive – the challenge was set.
The day started as all good days do with friends making fresh coffee and a good send off! Courtesy of Nick and Vick Cotton and Lee Townend – Vick gracefully bowing out from the ride given injuries gained from said training. Vick naturally turning her hand to all things useful and uber brilliant had magic’ed up trays of flapjack and sustenance for the Sunday ride. Speedy Rodgers (Sara) is currently sunning on the boat… but news has reached our shores that a Spanish version of a Hot 100 has been achieved…Ahem… (you’re meant to be on holiday… not getting more speedy…)
Sometimes words are better said in pics… so HUGE thanks to Lee firstly providing us with super support and secondly capturing us en route! Pol was sporting the new La Squadra kit… I was riding old skool…!
Needless to say – we had a excellent morning out – delighted to have come in sub 4hrs… Even more delighted to be asked by several members of la Squadra ‘Did you and Polly really do the FULL ride yesterday… You didn’t go up Curbar did you?’ !!
