Got a couple of (old style) club jerseys for sale – both unused, size 2XL (I would think the equivalent of somewhere between L-XL in Rapha sizes, for example) but too large for me – one in pale Blue/lightweight/short sleeve) and the other in Black/heavier weight/long sleeve).
Reasonable offer accepted for either or both – I’m out in the Peaks in Tideswell so you if fancy a ride out here you can collect en route, or I can post if you prefer. Give me a shout if interested!

Can’t speak for the Assos (I use and like their shorts and tights) but definitely another +1 for the Wind Jacket – had mine for 3-4 years and have to say it’s one of the best bits of kit I own – worn it all year round – and often in preference to my Rapha Classic Softshell – though I would have preferred the latter in the heavy rain during last weekend’s club ride!
In reply to - Tony Meadows posted an update: I know as a club we are very pro Rapha but i am looking for a new jacket and have it narrowed down to 2: Assos luftschutz and Rapha wind jacket objective opinions please…. don’t try and sway me with the 20% discount angle either as they are a similar [...] · View -

Definitely! Sounds good, Gian! (Although I think Ovaltine would be a better ’fit’ for my effort last Sunday as I felt more like ’un pensionato di vecchiaia’!)
Best of luck with the Dallaglio ride, by the way – at least it’s going to be drier than last Sunday! In reply to - Greg Walker posted an update: OK, that was rather damp – sure I was carrying an extra kilo or two of rainwater by the time I’d got to the top of Frogatt! You’re welcome (although apparently there were a variety of routes taken for the home stretch so they may only partly apply to your ride!).
I did suggest that perhaps an Ovaltine group might be a good third group to add to the Espresso and Cappuccino groups for the likes of me next time!

Just pulling this to the top of the messages for the weekend in case anyone missed the original posting earlier this week – last chance before it goes on ’general release’ on eBay next week – drop me a line if interested…
…I’m just about to get all retro for the coming season and have a new steel-framed toy on order and I will be selling my virtually new, full carbon Bianchi Sempre to help fund it – so I thought I’d give my fellow Squadrists the first chance to buy before I advertise it elsewhere.
The bike is the current 2012 model – bought last July so only six months old (and barely ridden during November and December as I was away) – only 940 miles of mostly dry use in total, cleaned after every outing, kept indoors and generally in excellent condition.
The frame is 53cm and finished in matt black (bare carbon) with Celeste highlights and details – it’s been a joy to ride, light and very responsive – looks really stunning in an understated way. It’s the current top spec version so has full Campag Athena 11 speed groupset (50/34 compact and 12/27 cassette), Athena skeleton brakes (in black), as well as Mavic Ksyrium Equipe wheels, San Marco Ponza saddle, FSA stem and Reparto Corse bars. Comes complete with two Elite bottle cages and Bianchi Celeste water bottles, all original documentation, owner’s manuals etc.
I paid around £2700 and am open to reasonable offers so if you’re thinking of upgrading (or even downgrading depending what you’re currently riding!) for the start of the new season, it’s a great opportunity to pick up this stunning bike at a significantly lower price.
Please drop me a line if you’d like more details – lots of photos that I can email (some pics online here – mine’s the same model as this but with slightly different wheels – http://www.epic-cycles.co.uk/Bianchi_Sempre.html – scroll right to the bottom of the page for my version – which just happens to be called ’the Squadra!’)
Feel free to come and take a look in person, I’m out in the middle of the Peak District in Tideswell and around most daytimes, evenings and weekend.
Thanks! -

As I thought, my ride-pasts hit the edit room floor and another chance at fame slips by! The distance card was just the first of my excuses – plenty more to play yet Tony!
