Team of 5 hit the Etape Caledonia today; Tony, Keith, Mick, Jon and Rob. 130km, 1200m of mostly undulating closed roads with one big hill and headwinds from hell. Top effort from Keith to sneak in under the four-hour mark.

10 out this morning; Ringinglow, yorkshire bridge, hathersage, abney, tideswell, monsal head, Back road to baslow, hathersage (coffee), surprise view. There were even bursts of sunshine. 79km, 1500m, 24.4kmph. Fun ride in good company

More like that please, I felt like I alomost kept up!

I’ll not forget that ride in a hurry
Somehow, Alex and I managed to squeeze in a climb up Monsal Head too. Great spirit and support on the road – that’s what it’s all about!
Top effort from everyone back at the clubhouse both before the ride and as riders returned looking for warmth, food and Peroni.
Now then, can I seriously bring myself to spend £80 on a pair of Rapha gloves?

Rode the Hell of the North Cotswolds yesterday – a very appropriate name. 100km, 1900m ascent, mostly off road. My poor CX bike was on the ragged edge for a lot of the descents and I was truly in the pain locker. Will I do it again, absolutely
